Hariprriya was born on October 29, 1991, in the Indian city of Chikkaballapur. After she finished her schooling, she joined a Bharatanatyam dance school right away. She went to a prep high school in Bangalore, which is where her family ended up living.

Shruthi’s mother suggested that she change her name from Haripriya to Harriprriya in 2013, but she didn’t want to. She explained her choice by saying, “My mother asked me to change the spelling.”

Haripriya grew up in Chikkaballapur, where she also finished high school and learned Bharatanatyam. She moved to Bangalore with her family to finish her pre-university studies.
