He went to school in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, at BSP Senior Secondary School, Sector-IV (SSS-IV) (then Madhya Pradesh). His Bachelor of Science in Physics from the University of Mumbai was given to him.
Anurag Basu Early Life
Basu grew up in a middle- to upper-class Bengali family in the city of Bhilai, in the state of Madhya Pradesh. Basu grew up watching his father’s theatre group, which included Subrato Bose and Deepshikha Bose. They were both good actors and had degrees from the SAIL Bhilai Steel Plant in Cokeovens and the Education department (Organic Chemistry).
He went to school in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, at BSP Senior Secondary School, Sector-IV (SSS-IV). He got his Bachelor of Science in Physics with honours from the University of Mumbai, and he planned to go to the FTII in Pune to learn more about cinematography. But while he was in Mumbai, he worked on different sets and crews to gain experience in the film and TV industries. Basu worked as an assistant director for Raman Kumar on Tara so that she could keep making movies.

Anurag Basu Career
Anurag Basu is one of the most sought-after directors in Indian film. He has made movies like “Life in a Metro,” “Gangster,” and “Barfi!” In his mid-20s, he worked as an assistant director on more than 70 episodes of the TV show Tara. This was his first job in the entertainment business. After directing the daily soap Koshish…Ek Aashaa for Balaji Telefilms in 2000, he went on to direct the pilots for other shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, and Kasautii Zindagii Kay.
Basu’s first movie was the horror thriller Kuchh To Hai, which came out in 2003. However, he left the film halfway through production, and Anil V. Kumar took his place. The movie Saaya, with John Abraham and Tara Sharma, was made by director Basu and Vishesh Films, but it didn’t do well with critics. His second movie as a director, Murder (2004), was well-liked even though it had an “A” rating and explicit sexual content, which were both new to an Indian audience at the time.
After Murder did well, Basu put out Gangster, which was Kangana Ranaut’s first important role. Both the movie and its music did very well at the box office. Barfi!, which stars Ranbir Kapoor, Priyanka Chopra, and Ileana D’Cruz, is one of Anurag’s best-known movies and is still playing in theaters. It’s about a child who is deaf and mute and makes friends with a girl who has autism. At film festivals, the performances were praised by many people. Ranbir Kapoor and Basu worked together again in 2017 to make the action musical Jagga Jasoos. This was Kapoor’s first film as a producer who also acted in front of the camera.
